Description produit
Reduce the environmental footprint at each stage of the life cycle
The production of paint involves the use of resources and energy, in addition to generating a lot of waste. The addition of each step, from the extraction of resources to the recovery or reuse of the product, defines its environmental footprint.
To reduce its impact, it is important to analyze each stage of a product's life cycle, taking everything into account: manufacturing, transport, use, from the beginning to the end of its life.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a globally recognized scientific approach to analyzing the environmental footprint of a product or service according to the internationally recognized ISO 14040-44 series of standards.
The LCA of 100% Eco-Responsible Boomerang paint has enabled Société Laurentide to demonstrate that its production emits four times less greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the production of traditional paint, all brands combined.
Thus, our company is fully committed to the protection of the environment and the protection of resources.
Environmental Product Declaration
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) allows manufacturing companies to communicate to the consumer the environmental performance of their products on the seven main environmental indicators, from its creation to its end-of-life management. The DEP is now essential everywhere in North America. It is based on the results of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Boomerang 100% Eco-Responsible paint is subject to an Environmental Product Declaration (CSA certified). Choosing Boomerang paints for your construction projects allows you to earn credits towards LEED v4 (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification in the Materials and Resources category.
“Boomerang products are made from post-consumer paint and are put in containers made from recycled materials and recyclable plastics. On average, Boomerang paints contain 43 grams of VOCs per litre, which meets national standards and LEED requirements. VOC content was measured using EPA Standard Methods 24 and ASTM D-2369. It is important to note that these products are made from post-consumer paints with various VOC contents that would otherwise have been sent to landfill. In 2016, Laurentide re/sources collected 8 million kg of leftover paint and containers, 82% of which were recycled and therefore diverted from landfills. »
Sustainable development is at the heart of all the activities of Société Laurentides and its Laurentide Re/Sources division, which produces Boomerang paint.
